Masterpiece of character and coastal depth
Introducing the second release of the Glen Scotia Icons of Campbeltown series – The Crows of Campbeltown. This bold expression continues the tribute to the historic spirit of Campbeltown, once known as the “Whisky Capital of the World,” and now celebrated for its deep-rooted legends and enduring community strength.
Inspired by the ancient Campbeltown Market Cross, where tales and truths have crossed paths for centuries, this release explores the mysterious presence of crows — guardians of the town’s secrets, watchers of its past. Representing wisdom, protection, and transformation, the crow becomes the perfect emblem for this powerful 14-year-old single malt.
In collaboration with visionary artist Joel Holtzman, renowned for his storytelling artwork with Marvel, Lucasfilm, and Disney, this limited edition is brought vividly to life through striking imagery and design.
Matured for 14 years and finished in Italian Barolo wine casks
Matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon barrels and finished in rich Oloroso and PX sherry casks, this unpeated expression is bottled at cask strength. It delivers layers of dark dried fruits, warm spices, and coastal salinity — a dramatic and complex profile that mirrors the haunting majesty of the crows themselves.

Tasting note
Nose:
A deep and atmospheric nose opens with ripe red berries, dark cherries, and a wisp of coastal brine. Hints of blackcurrant jam, soft leather, and red wine tannins emerge, gently entwined with heather smoke and toasted oak. The Barolo influence is unmistakable, bringing an elegant fruitiness beneath the maritime veil.
Palate:
On the palate, bold notes of stewed plums, cranberries, and spiced red grapes unfold, balanced by warming oak spice and a thread of gentle peat smoke. Mid-palate reveals layers of dark chocolate, clove, and charred vanilla, all wrapped in a silky texture that reflects both age and cask complexity.
Finish:
The finish is long and warming, with fading echoes of smoky red fruit, cracked pepper, and dried herbs. A touch of sea salt lingers at the edges, leaving a savory impression that speaks to Campbeltown’s rugged coastal soul and Glen Scotia’s signature character.
