Cask Information
Tamdhu 18 Year Old has been matured exclusively and for its full eighteen years in carefully selected American and European oak casks seasoned with Oloroso sherry. There is no secondary finish or brief final maturation: the spirit derives its entire colour, structure and flavour profile from prolonged interaction with sherry-seasoned oak.
The American oak casks introduce generous sweetness and softness, contributing layers of vanilla, honey, ripe orchard fruit and creamy chocolate. The European oak casks provide greater intensity and structure, bringing dried fruits, dark cherries, warming spices, toasted nuts and a refined dryness.
After eighteen years, these contrasting oak styles have become beautifully integrated. The result is a full-bodied and mouthcoating single malt in which rich sherry sweetness is balanced by mature oak, vibrant fruit and elegant spice. Its deep copper colour is developed entirely through maturation in the cask, with no artificial colouring required.

Founded on the banks of the River Spey in 1897, Tamdhu has remained uncompromising in its dedication to full-term sherry maturation. Rather than simply finishing the whisky in sherry-seasoned wood, the spirit spends its entire maturation in American and European oak casks seasoned with Oloroso sherry. After eighteen patient years, this creates exceptional depth, a naturally deep copper colour and a luxuriously rich texture.
The whisky reveals an indulgent combination of ripe cherries, dark plums and dried fruits, complemented by nutty milk chocolate, honey-baked oats and vibrant citrus. Layers of vanilla, stewed apple, warm spices and toasted nuts gradually unfold, creating a refined balance between generous sweetness, mature oak and elegant dryness.
Bottled at 46.8% ABV, without chill filtration and at natural colour, Tamdhu 18 Year Old preserves the richness and character developed entirely within the cask. Nose:
Upon pouring, the whisky reveals an opulent bouquet of ripe black cherries, dark plums and luxurious dried fruits. Fresh citrus provides a vibrant contrast, while nutty milk chocolate, honey-baked oats and soft vanilla gradually emerge beneath the fruit.
Palate:
The palate is rich, mouthcoating and beautifully structured, led by stewed fruits, chocolate-covered raisins and sweet orange. Layers of toasted almonds, caramelised apple and creamy vanilla are enriched by cinnamon, nutmeg and warming oak spice, creating a refined balance between sherry sweetness and mature dryness.
Finish:
The finish is long, warming and indulgent, with lingering notes of dried apricot, dates and dark chocolate. Waves of polished oak and gentle spice gradually develop, leaving behind echoes of stewed apple, roasted nuts and concentrated sherry fruit.
