This is a very special Bowmore, very old and fully matured in the famous Warehouse No. 1. Bowmore has a rough history. During the Second World War, Bowmore Harbor served the British Army. Since then, Bowmore has changed hands many times. It came into Japanese hands in 1994. Distilled in 1989, this rare single malt whisky has been gently aged for three decades in the finest Sherry Hogsheads and Bourbon Barrels. It is the first batch of this annual series. That is why Wealthy Whisky Society wants to have this first edition. A very special Bowmore, as a first release. This 30 Year Old is a celebration of Bowmore’s rich fruity and subtly smoky style.
Only 2.80 bottles of this beautiful 2020 edition have been made worldwide. The packaging of this bottle is as special as the whisky itself. A very luxurious set with a wooden and leather box is a feast for the eyes. All this referring to the sea and the characteristic driftwood. Capturing the art of the times, this whisky is based on the detailed markings on driftwood and the refined sheen of sea glass, reflecting the eternal connection to Islay, according to Bowmore himself. Scars elevated to art. Nice to know: The total weight of the set is over 7 KG!

Tasting note
This whisky is a feast for the senses with a shiny golden color, just like other Bowmore’s. You smell honey and bananas. Then aromas of pineapple, vanilla and butterscotch. Lots of depth and thoughts arise to the sun and cocktails.
Those thoughts are reflected in the taste in the form of tropical fruit with the taste of honeyed melon. Then a very subtle but cool note of peat smoke.
The aftertaste is nice and warm with ripe fruit. All of this lingers nicely on the tongue. Just like other Bowmore’s also an absolute taste cannon with a very cool intensity.
