The wooden anniversary of the Anniversary Editions of Stokerij De Molenberg: Victor. The previous editions have had special finishes. Victor doesn’t have that this time. The fifth anniversary of Gouden Carolus Whisky is celebrated with a whisky that matured for its full five years in first-fill bourbon barrels, made of American oak, of course. A type of wood that gives off pleasant hints of vanilla, honey and coconut during the maturation process. Victor is a tribute to perseverance, named after Victor Van Breedam, the last distiller at the ‘Molenberg’ who continued the family stick tradition until the beginning of the First World War. He was then 70 years old.
Since 2010, spirit has been flowing from the stills of Stokerij De Molenberg again and this whisky is an annual limited edition to celebrate this. A total of 8,000 bottles were bottled at 45% strength.
With this fifth edition we have completed the series again. We notice once again that the series is very popular and remains popular among connoisseurs and enthusiasts.

Tasting note
Vanilla and coconut are immediately present in the nose. Also some peach dried oak, combined with a subtle pear. The virgin oak is clearly recognizable. Clear, pleasant and recognisable.
The taste is recognizably young. Soft with fruity notes such as apricot and apples. This combines beautifully with the intense notes of vanilla and wood.
The finish is not too long and has some caramel. A smooth whisky that is recognizably young.
