As for every birthday, Stokerij de Molenberg also releases a 4th Anniversay Edition. The popularity of this series is increasing every year. The same goes for the fourth edition, Muscad’or. After maturing for 33 months in bourbon barrels, this Muscad’or was finished for ten months in French Muscat wine barrels. These barrels came from Beaumes-de-Venise, an appellation in the Rhône region that is particularly famous for its sweet wines from the Muscat grape. These particular casks were used to mature Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise which came from old vines growing on sun-drenched hillside terraces protected by the mistral wind. A very smooth and refined sweet whisky with unmistakable influences from the very special finish.
Due to the increasing popularity of this Molenberg series, new editions are quickly sold out. Special fact is that not the same number of bottles of each edition have come onto the market. This makes a complete series more and more exclusive. We are happy that we were able to complete the series and will continue to keep an eye on the upcoming editions.

Tasting note
The nose is immediately sweet and fruity. Especially peach and apricot, combined with a subtle spiciness of a little bit pepper. Despite its young age, this whisky already has a beautiful, powerful and spicy palette.
The taste is full and has body that is nicely balanced. Velvety soft with fruity notes such as apricot and ripened fruit. This combines beautifully with notes of honey, nuts, vanilla and wood.
The aftertaste is sweet and pleasantly spicy. A smooth, elegant whisky, but certainly not too sweet.
