Cask Information
Glengoyne 24 Year Old White Oak has been matured exclusively in a carefully selected combination of first-fill ex-bourbon casks and virgin American oak casks. Both cask types are made from Quercus alba, yet each contributes a distinctly different layer to the whisky’s character.
The first-fill bourbon casks provide an elegant foundation of creamy vanilla, golden honey, citrus and soft oak. The virgin oak casks bring greater intensity and structure, introducing deeper notes of honeycomb, warm spice and vibrant wood. After 24 years of maturation, these influences have become beautifully integrated, creating a refined balance between bright lemon, key lime, rich sweetness and mature oak.
The result is a rare expression of Glengoyne in which American white oak takes centre stage, allowing the distillery’s naturally delicate and fruit-driven spirit to remain clear while gaining remarkable richness, depth and complexity.

Glengoyne 24 Year Old White Oak is a rare and sophisticated Highland single malt that reveals an entirely different dimension of the distillery’s famously elegant character. Created as a special limited release within the White Oak collection, this expression combines 24 years of patient maturation with the vibrant influence of carefully selected American oak.
The whisky has matured in a combination of first-fill American oak ex-bourbon casks and virgin American oak casks. The first-fill bourbon barrels introduce layers of creamy vanilla, golden honey and bright citrus, while the unused oak contributes greater structure, warmth and refined spice. After more than two decades, these contrasting influences have developed into a beautifully integrated whisky with remarkable richness, freshness and depth.
Glengoyne’s exceptionally slow distillation process plays an essential role in its character. By allowing the spirit to develop gradually and without the use of peat smoke, the distillery creates a delicate and fruit-driven new make spirit that interacts elegantly with the oak. In the White Oak 24 Year Old, this results in a distinctive profile of lemon curd, key lime pie, honeycomb and soft vanilla, supported by mature oak and gentle spice.
Bottled at 47.8% ABV, the whisky retains impressive concentration while remaining refined and balanced. Bright citrus and honeyed sweetness unfold into soft oak, creamy vanilla and a long, well-aged finish, showcasing the precision and patience for which Glengoyne is renowned.
Released as a one-time limited edition that will not be repeated once sold out, Glengoyne 24 Year Old White Oak represents a highly distinctive addition to the distillery’s portfolio. Its considerable age, unusual combination of bourbon and virgin oak and strictly limited availability make it an exceptional whisky for both the serious collector and the connoisseur seeking a rarer expression of Glengoyne’s craftsmanship.
