Cask Information
The Dalmore 18 Year Old begins its maturation in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, which provide a smooth and elegant foundation of vanilla, citrus and gentle oak spice. The whisky is then transferred into rare 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso Sherry casks from the renowned González Byass bodega.
These exceptional sherry casks bring depth and richness, introducing layers of dried fruit, dark chocolate, roasted coffee and warm spice. After eighteen years of maturation, the bourbon and sherry influences come together in a beautifully balanced whisky, combining The Dalmore’s signature orange character with mature sweetness, refined oak and a rich, lingering complexity.

The Dalmore 18 Year Old is a distinguished Highland single malt that captures the rich, elegant and unmistakably luxurious house style of The Dalmore. After eighteen years of patient maturation, the whisky reveals an exceptional balance between vibrant citrus, deep sherry richness and refined oak, making it one of the defining expressions within the distillery’s Principal Collection.
Its character is shaped through The Dalmore’s renowned approach to cask curation. The spirit is initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, developing a smooth foundation of vanilla, citrus and gentle spice. It is then enriched in rare 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso Sherry casks from González Byass, which introduce deeper layers of dried fruit, dark chocolate, roasted coffee and mature sweetness.
On the nose, The Dalmore 18 Year Old opens with rich aromas of vanilla, dark chocolate and English marmalade. The palate develops into an opulent combination of chocolate-covered raisins, ripe citrus fruits, coffee, nutmeg and warm spices. Its finish is long and polished, with lingering impressions of orange, cocoa, sherry-soaked fruit and elegant oak.
Bottled at 43% ABV, this expression offers both richness and approachability. Its mature character, prestigious sherry-cask influence and limited availability position it as a refined choice for the experienced whisky drinker and an impressive addition to a distinguished collection.
Presented in The Dalmore’s iconic bottle and adorned with the silver 12-pointed Royal Stag, The Dalmore 18 Year Old reflects nearly two centuries of Highland craftsmanship. It is a sophisticated single malt in which time, exceptional wood and the distillery’s signature orange character come together in remarkable harmony.
