Exclusive series

The seventh edition of the Anniversary series of Stokerij De Molenberg: Rabelo. This name is a derivative of the traditional Portuguese Rabelo boats. These flat-bottomed wooden boats were used to transport port wine from the Douro Valley to the cellars near the city of Porto. Rabelo literally means ‘tail’, a reference to the rudder that protrudes from the back of the boat and is used for steering.
The first maturation of 36 months in Bourbon casks is followed by a finish of 28 months in white port casks.

With seven editions, the series is starting to get serious. The series has also not become less popular. For the time being, the series will continue to grow and we will also supplement ours.

Tasting note

In the nose, notes of fresh and dried fruit appear, combined with flowers, vanilla and a little caramel. Even a sweet raid of sugared candies. A nice combination.

The taste is surprising. First, candied fruit comes up. Also some honey and nutty notes. Floral with a hint of hay and toffee.
The aftertaste is light with the spicy notes disappearing quickly. The sweet notes of caramel and vanilla do last longer.
