A boundless curiosity and a passion for craftsmanship – that’s the golden recipe behind all beers at Duvel-Moortgat. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the family brewery, two years ago, they launched a limited edition of Duvel Distilled. Thanks to its resounding success and their unwavering dedication, they are proud to present the Duvel Distilled 2023 edition.
To further enhance the signature intensity of Duvel, the master distillers, led by Cédric Heymans, opted for cellar aging on wood. The distilled Duvel was left to rest for 10 years in oak barrels from bourbon and sherry casks. As a final touch, this blend underwent a finishing process in Sicilian Marsala casks. Marsala is an age-old fortified sweet wine where alcohol is added to fermenting grape juice.
Duvel Distilled 2023 promises a world of flavors and aromas, undoubtedly harboring a personal favorite within its richness. To bring this richness to life, they’ve adorned this edition with a festive packaging embellished with a touch of gold. Naturally, they maintain the recognizable design of the bottle, featuring a reversed version of our iconic tulip-shaped Duvel glass.

Tasting note
The maturation in Marsala casks will titillate your senses with spicy aromas of vanilla and cloves. This aromatic intensity is complemented by fruity accents on the palate. Even after a decade-long aging process, the balanced character of Duvel remains unmistakable.
In Duvel Distilled 2023, you’ll discover rich flavors of cherry, apricot, and raisin. These distinct layers of taste converge to create an elegant harmony where the expressive wood character adds structure and complexity to a lingering finish.
