The Glendronach Distillery is built on a bank of Dronach Burn in the valley of Porque, just outside Speyside. The name Glendronach means “valley of the Dronach”, as the distillery was named after the river Dronach that flows past.
After the standard 12 years, Revival 15 years and the Allardice 18 years, the range has been expanded with a 21 year old malt whisky that was named “Parliament”. In addition to the well-known meaning, Parliament is also the name given to a crow-like bird, the rook. Glendronach has long been a favorite nesting site for this bird. A “Parliament” group of rooks lived at the distillery for over a hundred years. This new Glendronach has matured in a combination of ex-Oloroso and ex-Pedro Ximinez sherry casks.

Tasting note

In the nose there are rich and full aromas of sherry combined with oak and honey. You will taste a challenging taste coming from vanilla and chocolate accompanied by bitter orange and delicious notes of grapefruit. The finish is long and very dry with hints of brown sugar and the characteristics of coffee.
