This remarkable whisky, guided by Glen Scotia’s Master Blender, captures the essence of the distillery’s heritage. Drawing inspiration from Campbeltown’s historic trade connections with Spanish bodegas, a meticulous selection of sherry finishing was employed, crafting a classical Campbeltown Single Malt.
Encased in an oak display reminiscent of Spain’s ‘Azulejo’ tile designs, each of the 250 individually numbered bottles tells a unique story. The intricately etched design, accented with gold metal decorations and a heavy metal stopper, complements the whisky’s exceptional presentation.
Matured in a blend of refill and first-fill bourbon barrels for over four decades, this whisky underwent a five-year finish in first-fill oloroso hogsheads, followed by a further six-month refinement in ex-Pedro Ximénez Hogsheads. This meticulous process infuses floral and citrus notes, complemented by hints of treacle sweetness and marmalade spice, while preserving Glen Scotia’s distinctive maritime character.
