Extremely rare

After a very enjoyable Sunday lunch at Peter Russell’s house, Tom produced some Glengoyne Single Cask samples for the family to try. This particular cask number 1549 stood out as being of absolutely remarkable quality. It is the only cask that the three generations of Russell’s have unanimously chosen to bottle and celebrates three generations of Russell’s working together in the business.

Glengoyne 36 years The Russell Family Cask is known at the time of bottling as one of the oldest single malt whiskies Glengoyne has released to date. This single Cask whisky has been personally selected by 3 generations of The Russell Family, the family that owns Ian Macleod Distillers which includes Glengoyne whisky. This 36 year old whisky fully matures on a refill sherry butt and is characterized by a complex and profound profile as a result of the long barrel maturation.
