Cask Information

Tamdhu 15 Year Old has been matured exclusively for its full fifteen years in American and European oak casks seasoned with Oloroso sherry. There is no bourbon-cask foundation and no brief sherry finish: the whisky derives its entire natural colour, structure and flavour profile from prolonged maturation in sherry-seasoned oak.

The American oak casks contribute softness and sweetness, introducing layers of vanilla, honeyed fruit, creamy almonds and bright citrus. European oak provides greater structure and intensity, bringing spiced currants, dried fruit, toasted nuts, mature oak and an elegant dryness.

After fifteen years, these contrasting oak influences become beautifully integrated. The result combines vibrant orchard and summer fruits with rich sherry sweetness, gentle spice and a firm but refined oak character, while preserving the approachable fruit-driven style for which Tamdhu is recognised.

Tamdhu 15 Year Old is a rich and expressive Speyside single malt created for enthusiasts of authentic sherry-cask maturation. Matured exclusively in carefully selected Oloroso sherry casks, this distinguished expression combines vibrant summer fruits with indulgent sweetness, elegant spice and a beautifully developed oak character.

For the complete fifteen-year maturation, the spirit rests in American and European oak casks that have been seasoned with Oloroso sherry in Jerez, Spain. Rather than receiving a short finishing period, every drop develops its colour, richness and complexity entirely within sherry-seasoned oak. This patient approach creates a whisky with a naturally deep amber colour and a full, luxuriously textured character.

The whisky opens with an aromatic combination of apple pastry, spiced currants and fresh orange zest, accompanied by exotic notes of pineapple and fennel. On the palate, juicy apricot and vibrant raspberry are balanced by lemon tart, creamy almonds and rich sherry sweetness.

Bottled at 46% ABV, at natural colour and without chill filtration, Tamdhu 15 Year Old retains the depth and texture created during its extended maturation. The result is a refined yet generous Speyside single malt that demonstrates how fruit, oak and Oloroso sherry can develop in remarkable harmony over fifteen years.

Tasting Note

Nose:
Upon pouring, the whisky reveals an inviting bouquet of warm apple pastry, spiced currants and fresh orange zest. As it opens, vibrant notes of pineapple and ripe orchard fruit emerge, joined by gentle fennel, creamy vanilla and a subtle layer of polished oak.

Palate:
The palate is rich, silky and fruit-forward, led by juicy apricot, vibrant raspberry and sweet citrus. Lemon tart brings a refreshing acidity, while creamy almonds, vanilla and warm baking spices provide depth and balance. Beneath the brighter fruit lies a generous layer of mature Oloroso sherry sweetness.

Finish:
The finish is long, rounded and elegantly warming, with malt biscuit, cream sherry and soft vanilla lingering on the palate. Gentle oak spice and toasted almonds gradually develop, leaving behind a refined combination of dried fruit, citrus and delicate sweetness.
