The Scottish distillery Wolfburn, founded in 2013 and therefore relatively new, regularly releases special bottles on the market. The Ukraine Edition is a limited edition of 1,550 bottles fully aged for 7 years on ex-bourbon quarter casks, the yellow-blue label clearly states “Supporting the Ukraine humanitarian appeal”.
Wolfburn aims to raise £25,000 for the Ukrainian Humanitarian Relief Fund to benefit refugees and war victims in Ukraine. The distillery donates the proceeds of this bottling in full to this charity, your support will be rewarded with this fantastic whisky. Although you really have to do your best to get one more. Most bottles are already sold out everywhere.

Tasting note
The nose starts with initially soft notes of citrus. Orange and lemon peel also makes it a bit spicy. Then comes the sweetness of vanilla. The taste starts with soft notes of citrus and clears the way for hints of hazelnut and oak. A pleasant combination. Wolfburn’s classic floral aromas are clearly recognizable, supported by the taste of dried fruit and cinnamon. The finish is caramel-like with dried fruit, figs and dates. At the very end, the smoke of oak wood lingers in a pleasant way. This ensures a nice and long finish.
