We are now increasingly looking forward to the new releases of the Anniversary Editions of Stokerij De Molenberg. It may even become a tradition by now. And in November 2022 the time had come. The new release of the ninth edition: Folle Blanche.
Folle Blanche is a well-known French white grape variety from which cognac is made. The high acidity of this grape is reflected in distillates in the refined, perfumed aromas. Stokerij De Molenberg 9Th Anniversary 2022 Folle Blance whisky first matured in Bourbon and Anker barrels, followed by a long-lasting finish of three years in cognac barrels.
The series is still immensely popular and only available in limited quantities. We described the story of this with the first edition Gold Fusion. With the addition of Folle Blanche, the series for the coming year is complete again. On to the next.

Tasting note
The nose is immediately sweet with floral and fruity notes. Especially peach and apricot. Maturing first in Bourbon and Anker casks, followed by a long-lasting finish of three years in cognac casks, creates a powerful full palette.
The taste is full and has body that is nicely balanced. Tones like wood and vanilla at the start. This combines beautifully with a sourness and the fruity hint from the cognac barrel.
The finish is sweet and pleasant with honey and vanilla. A smooth, elegant whisky, but certainly not too sweet.
