Glenmorangie Grand Vintage Malt 1989 is the second release belonging to the Bond House No.1 collection. This is a series of rare whiskies released as a tribute to the heritage and history of the distillery. This whisky was therefore still distilled in the old still house. After more than a century of providing space for the highest boilers in Scotland, the old still house has finally grown out of its jacket. Both Oloroso and bourbon barrels have been used to make this whisky, but also different wine barrels. The most special here are barrels that previously contained Côte-Rôtie. This is one of France’s greatest wines, originating from the northern Rhône region. A particularly tasty red wine that takes the spirit of Glenmorangie to a higher level.
This whisky was released in a beautiful and striking bronze-like box. A feast for the eyes and actually no longer available anywhere. Only 6,178 copies have been bottled worldwide. Therefore a very nice addition to the exclusive WWS collection.

Tasting note
Toasted marshmallow and almond on the nose Classic buttery notes of vanilla and fudge, followed by a burst of fruit aromas; baked apple, red fruit, black currants and some tropical fruit. Fragrant wood smoke, freshly baked bread and beeswax.
The taste reveals an oily mouthfeel with a soft pepperiness. Again baked apple, fudge and soft citrus flavors.
A long finish with orange blossom and honey, a touch of eucalyptus oil and anise seed and leather. The finish ends with classic oak and spice aromas.
