The esteemed Scottish independent bottler, Douglas Laing, proudly presents the 3rd edition of The Dutch Dram Masters. This edition showcases a 17-year-old Old Particular Glenrothes exclusively bottled for the discerning Dutch market.
In homage to the legacy of Dutch artistry, Douglas Laing, in collaboration with De Monnik Dranken, introduces ‘The Dutch Dram Masters.’ Following the footsteps of masterpieces like the Night Watch and the Wind Gust, this edition pays tribute to “Het vrolijke huisgezin” (The Merry Family) by Jan Steen from 1668. “In high spirits, the entire family makes merry – the father sings loudly, raising his glass, while mother and grandma join in, and the children blow instruments and even smoke from long pipes. The note on the mantelpiece reveals the moral of the story: ‘As the old sing, so pipe the young.’”
This exclusive release of the Old Particular Glenrothes 17 Years Old has matured gracefully for 17 long years in a sherry butt, culminating in a rich and flavorful expression bottled at a potent 61.1% ABV. True to Douglas Laing’s tradition, it remains free from artificial coloring and undergoes no chill-filtration, maintaining the whisky’s purest form and character.
